FS2000 Curtiss SBC-4 Helldiver

The Curtiss SBC-4 "Helldiver" was the last biplane dive bomber to serve on US carriers. It was replaced at the start of WW2 by the Douglas Dauntless. This particular plane is painted in the colors of VS-5 which served onboard the Yorktown in 1939. The color sceme is as depicted in "The Complete Encyclopedia of World Aircraft" by David Donald. Note: The .air file has been modified to permit short carrier landings similar to my Boeing F4B-4. When you come over the fantail of a landable carrier (or are about to touchdown on any runway for that matter) hit the spoiler key (/) and the plane will hit the deck and stop in about 200 feet. Don't hit the spoiler key in mid air or the plane will drop like a rock!

INSTALLATION: Unzip Sbc-4.zip into a temporary folder. Copy and paste the unzipped Sbc-4 folder into the FS2000 Aircraft directory. Open the Sbc-4 folder and find the "gauges" folder. Copy and paste the contents into the FS2000 gauges directory.(you may delete the "gauges" folder at this point) Close everything and fire up FS2000. The plane should show in the aircraft list as Curtiss Sbc-4.

PANEL:I could find absolutely no data on a panel for this project so I added a landing gear lever and flap lever to the F4B-4 panel and included it in this file.

SOUND: I aliased the c182 sounds to keep the file size down; for my own enjoyment I like the robust sounds from Jack Hill's excellent T-28.

LEGAL:This project is released as freeware. You may modify it, repaint it, etc., upload to another website as long as it is not for profit. You need my written permission to use any of these files for commercial purposes; otherwise a simple credit would be nice. Happy Landings!! Ground or Carrier!!
